The attached concept map was created to plan the care for an eighteen-year-old African American male newly diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. This paper aims to take the information from the concept map and explain it in detail.Client Needs AnalysisWhen assessing and interviewing this client, many areas of need were identified regarding health needs, economic situation and environmental factors, and cultural and family influences. These areas were narrowed down to three primary nursing diagnoses: Economic needs ineffective home maintenance, Ineffective health management, and Interrupted family process (Ladwig et al., 2020). The next step was addressing them in order of priority and urgency. The most urgent is the of Economic needs ineffective home maintenance, followed by Ineffective health management and finishing with the Interrupted family process.Economic Situation and Environmental FactorsThis client’s most urgent nursing diagnosis is the Economic needs ineffective home maintenance (Ladwig et al., 2020). The client shared information demonstrating that he has no financial stability to begin treating his HIV infection. He reported only having $500 in his bank account from a recent birthday. He did not disclose his current job and is relying on his significant other’s parents for basic needs, such as a place to sleep and food, after being kicked out of his home by his mother. In addition, he presented to today’s visit without a state-issued ID or insurance cards, though he claims to be covered by his father’s insurance until he is 25 years old.
