Think about science today’s Nature vs Science ” Much like the short film based on Hawthorne’s short story, there are many of examples of Nature vs Evil( science) in the world we live in. While advances science and medicine have undoubtedly improved our lives, these advancements have come at a price. Artificial Intelligence is just one example of science changing our day to day lives. Artificial Intelligence has been used to better our lives in so many ways, including to create robots that cant help the disabled live independent lives. While the benefits are many, so too are costs. Artificial Intelligence is being by the private sector to influence our decisions. “today’s AI systems influence human decision making at multiple levels: from viewing habits to purchasing decisions, from political opinions to social values.” (VTE2023). Artificial Intelligence also has a large impact on the environment. Artificial Intelligence relies heavily on computing at data centers. These centers have a large carbon foot print due to the large amount of electricity consumed and the large quantifies of water used to keep the computers cool. The impact of Artificial Intelligence on peoples jobs must also be considered. There is the potential for Artificial Intelligence put almost any profession out of work.
