(Solved) : General Question Confidence Interval Result Got Basic Form Prpblem Compare Exam Results St Q32967597 . . .
I have a general question about a confidence interval result Igot. The basic form of the prpblem was to compare the exam resultsof students who complete their assignments with those who do not.Cutting to the end, I got t test statistic to be 1.9135 and thectirical value 1.746 with an upper tailed test, so the conclusionwas to reject null hypothesis (null = means are the same for bothgroups of students, alternative was mean of those who completeassignments is higher). So far so good, but then moving on toconfidence interval of 95pct, I got the following interval:
(-1.5756, 30.7756)
and my question is: does this look sensible? I’m concernedbecause a) the interval contains zero and b) it seems quite large,c) doesn’t line with the result of hypothesis test which rejectednull
Is this normal to get this kind of CI?
